ARTIST BIO:

Hannah Enkel received her BFA from OCAD in 2010, majoring in printmaking. From sifting through the ways that printmaking techniques develop and stylize work came Enkel’s recognition that informing concepts based on material is vital to her practice. By applying different material processes that vary depending on the piece, Hannah builds, paints, prints, collects and archives. 

Enkel works in site-specific installation, which employs different formats; a semi-private archive in a basement or a large sign placed in heavily trafficked areas for public consumption. Engaging forms of labour and using her position Enkel seeks to flip or destabilize power structures and expose complexities of class and gender.
